How to install LDSscoreboard
Starting with LDSscoreboard version 3.0, Microsoft’s .net8 technology is used so that we can take advantage of the latest features. This runtime environment is currently not yet distributed with the Windows 11 operating system, so it must be installed specifically.
In this article we will see the simple process of how to install LDSscoreboard, which consists of these simple steps:
This article is part of the guide“Introduction to sports scoreboard software“.
1 – Download the application
Go to the download page ( click here ) and select the version of LDSscoreboard you are interested in.
At the end you should find in your Downloads directory the LDSscoreboard file named LDScoreboard.X.X.X.X.zip. The three numbers accompanying LDSscoreboard refer to the version of the application.
2 – Unzip the downloaded file
Once downloaded, unzip the file. This will generate a directory named LDSscoreboard followed by the version. If you are upgrading to a newer version we recommend that you do not overwrite the previous installation, so you can revert to the previous version or test the new one without interfering with the use of the previous one.
3 – Try running LDScoreboard
Inside the unzipped directory, go to the LDSscoreboard.X.X.X directory and locate the LDSscoreboard.exe file, the one with the stopwatch icon, and try to run it.
If you already have the necessary Microsoft components installed (.net8 and ASPNetCore) then the application will start and the installation process will finish here, but in case you do not have them installed, since Microsoft does not distribute them automatically in the Wind0ws 10 and 11 operating systems, the operating system will indicate it and will present you a link to access the download from the Microsoft web site.
4 – Installation of Microsoft .net8
Access the Microsoft link, and download the .net8 component first. Once downloaded, run the file and proceed to install it.
5 – Installing Microsoft ASPNetCore
Proceed again to run LDSscoreboard, and the operating system will prompt you, with a message very similar to the previous one, to download a component. Click on the link and proceed to download and run the installer.
6 – Run LDScoreboard
Finally your operating system has the necessary components and you can run LDSscoreboard normally. You only need to run the file LDSscoreboard.exe that you will find in the program folder.
